Usually, the Collision Damage Waiver can exempt you from the expenses that exceed the deductible for the damage to the rented vehicle during the rental period. You only need to bear the expenses within the deductible. However, the situations listed below do not exempt you from liability and require you to pay the full cost of the vehicle damage.
Vehicle collision insurance does not cover the following:
- Damage to windows/windshields, interior trim, wheels, tires, chassis, or roof;
- Damage to vehicles caused by abnormal driving of vehicles on mountain roads, gravel roads, and other abnormal roads;
- The driver drives after drinking or taking medicine or drugs;
- The driver’s name does not appear on the rental agreement;
- Damage caused by towing the rental vehicle by an unauthorized third party.
- beyond the restricted area of the vehicle
